Bassano, Francesco - Workshop - Entombment of Christ (Bassano 1549-1592 Venice) Multi-figure scene in expressive chiaroscuro painting; the interior of a stable-like structure, lit only by the light of a candle, in which Joseph of Arimathea lays the body on the floor, mourned by the Virgin Mary and other figures. Oil on canvas, relined. 86.5 x 76.5 cm; not framed. - Traces of age, marginal defects. - Detail after the painting by Jacopo Bassano (da Ponte) in the Louvre, Paris, from 1575/77. // Bassano, Francesco - Werkstatt Grablegung Christi (Bassano 1549-1592 Venedig) Vielfigurige Szenerie in ausdrucksvoller Hell-Dunkel-Malerei; nur durch den Schein einer Kerze erhelltes Innere einer stallartigen Architektur, in der Josef von Arimathäa den Leichnam auf den Boden bettet, betrauert von den Marien und weiteren Figuren. Öl/Lwd., doubl. 86,5 x 76,5 cm; unger. - Altersspuren, Randmängel. - Ausschnitt nach dem Gemälde von Jacopo Bassano (da Ponte) im Louvre, Paris, aus dem Jahr 1575/77.
