Description A Chinese Gilt Decorated Mirror Black Glazed Zhi-Shaped Porcelain Vase, Kangxi Period 清康熙 黑地描金仿古饕餮紋觶 Kangxi Period (1622-1722) The broad pear-shaped body is decorated with alternating gilt taotie masks and shou-character roundels, the flaring neck is decorated with plantain leaves alternating with lappets and shou characters, all reserved on a luminous black glaze. Height 15 1/4 in., 38.7 cm. Condition Report Overall good visual condition, with minor wear to gilding, scattered glaze pits, and abrasion especially to footing and rim.
