**The Legacy of William Jones**
Unlike most of his contemporaries, William Jones enjoyed a remarkably carefree and free-spirited youth. His grandfather immigrated from Finland to the Northwestern part of North America (now part of California) during the mid-19th century. With the gold rush, he quickly accumulated wealth. William's father inherited the family fortune and engaged in the shipping business. In the 1940s, William Jones met the Rinpoche Gimme on a ship, which sparked his deep interest in Tibetan Buddhism and set him on a path of seeking Dharma.
Between 1950 and 1972, William traveled through Tibet in China, Nepal, Mongolia, and other regions for study and practice. During this period, he donated to the construction of many temples and collected over a hundred Buddha statues. Due to health reasons, he returned to the United States and, together with his teacher, Zongar Tso, established a Tibetan Buddhist center in Santa Rosa, California, to promote Buddhist ideals to a wider audience.
After Mr. William Jones passed away in 1987, his descendant, Matthew Jones, inherited his entire estate. Our company has been entrusted to publicly auction 10 pieces of Buddhist art collected by his father.H. 23.5 cm. W. 7.5 cm. Weight. 1022 gram.
