Mystery Box!
拍品描述:
Presented in an original 1920s Tate's sugar cube box themselves much sought after, the mystery box contains some fantastic surprises. The centrepiece is an item from 1897 – the founding year of the Royal Warrant Holders Association Charity Fund. Whilst the market value of the mystery box items is around £800 to £1,200, it also includes a money can't buy experience in East London for up to ten people. Since 1878, Tate & Lyle Sugars has been refining cane sugar on the banks of the River Thames in East London. We received our first Royal Warrant from King George V shortly after his coronation for Lyle's Golden Syrup, a product that has been continuously made in our East London factory – and nowhere else - since 1881. Today, cane sugar arrives from all over the world to be refined at our London factories, like it has for nearly 150 years. And for most of that time, our colleagues, suppliers and customers have been proud that the sugar story they are part of is recognised with the Royal Warrant. Whether that be small sugarcane farmers in Fiji and Belize that supply our factories, or our East London workforce whose families have dedicated generations in service to us. The RWHA Charity Fund is important for warrant-holders to support. It is a way in which we can give something back in return for the pride we get from holding the warrant. And it's why we've been pleased to make our own small contribution in recent years – with both our Limited Edition Coronation Lyle's tin last year in aid of the Charity Fund, and our very mysterious Mystery Box today.
