of gently tapering form, covered in irregular burls, the wood patinated to a smooth brown colour

Modelled from a burlwood branch into a qimei('reaching the eyebrow') staff with a wider upper section tapering towards the lower section. Using minimal carving to showcase the natural form and knots of the burlwood, the craftsman created a smoothly polished staff that was comfortable to hold and use, resulting in a well-patinated staffover time.
「癭木瘤節杖」，天然癭木隨形截製為齊眉杖，上段粗下段細。全器保留原始瘤節的自然形態，其瘤點簇聚，或密結，或鬆散，極盡癭木瘤節之美。藝匠略施雕刻磨礱，刀法簡古有味，水磨細潤，適手受用，歲久包漿瑩徹，允稱奇器。
