The currentzitanboulder preserves much of thezitanfrom which it was carved, with only minimal carving and polishing skilfully executed by the craftsman. The base is carved flat and engraved with axingshuinscription translating to 'Peach blossom mountain pavilion'. Solid and dense, the dark purplish-blackzitanis well patinated and exudes a tranquil yet weighty presence.
Zitanis considered best when it is solid and has a dense and fine grain, and when patinated over time, it further exudes an attractive glossy sheen.
「桃花山館紫檀隨形山子」，天然紫檀隨形製成山子，藝匠保留木材自然形態，僅略施雕刻磨礱。刀法簡古有味，水磨細潤。器底平截，并有行書刻：「桃花山館」。紫檀木質堅實遒勁，色澤黝黑凝紫，歲久包漿瑩徹，靜穆凝重，允稱奇器。
古今品評良質美材，大凡以堅實緻密，細潤勻淨，是為上品通則。材質越堅實密度則越高，歲愈久或數百年，所形成自然老化及撫握摩挲的包漿，會愈厚實瑩徹，在微妙中見歲月潤澤之美，油光泛水肌膚之麗。
