A large Chinese Republic Period celadon glazed 'Longevity' vase, featuring rows of various shou(longevity) characters,the shoulder decoration featruing floral lappets, trefoils andruyiheads, the neck carved on two sides and applied with a pair of confronting fish centred on awancharacter, celadon green glaze thinning to white on the raised areas, the base carved with a six-character Qianlong mark "Made in the Great Qing Dynasty during the reign of the Emperor Qianlong" in relief within a recessed square. 44 cm high. Note: This is a Republic period example of the Qianlong Longevity vase that sold at Sothebys Hong Kong in 2013 for £8.7 million.
