Of cylindrical form, the snuff bottle finely painted with various mythical creatures found in the ocean according to Chinese legends. Fitted with a coral and pearl stopper. Qing Dynasty period.

Provenance: The Taylor Family Collection of Chinese Art, San Francisco. Acquired in the 1960s and 1970s from antique markets in California and Hong Kong, including Gump's in San Francisco and the antique shops at the Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong
